Power-on and Initialization

Power-on and Initialization

Place the drone on a level, firm and stable surface. Tall grass, a sandy beach, metal structures (for example, a car hood or a ship deck), slush and puddles are unsuitable for takeoff: they can interfere with the drone compass, prevent gimbal initialization or damage the equipment.

The power-on and takeoff site must be in an open area away from trees, buildings, power lines and other obstacles. Make sure that the camera can rotate freely in all directions and is not obstructed by grass, soil or snow.

Turn on the drone. 5-7 seconds after power is applied, the gimbal with the camera starts initialization - a calibration with rotation in different directions. Do not obstruct the rotation and do not move the drone at this time. Gimbal calibration usually takes 10-15 seconds.

At the same time as the gimbal, the LR1 Control Module starts operating: the built-in computer boots, and the GNSS receiver starts searching for satellites. After booting, the camera appears in the DJI Pilot 2 app as the TOPODRONE LR1 Control Module payload, and the status window is shown over the camera view (see chapter 3.3).

Before the survey, make sure that the status window shows "SD mount OK".
