Precautions

Precautions

  • After finishing one data collection, it is recommended to briefly press the power button to put the scanner into standby, then briefly press it again to start the next data collection.
  • A closed route (loop) is not mandatory, but to guarantee data accuracy it is recommended to make a full closed route whenever conditions allow.
  • Be careful when taking the scanner out of the case and protect the rotating laser head (a precision component).
  • Do not touch the protective glass of the laser emission area with your hands.
  • Do not touch the camera lenses with your hands.
  • Do not point the laser head down during data collection.
  • Keep the scanner moving smoothly during data collection and avoid sudden jolts.
  • Before using the device, make sure the battery handle is in place, does not wobble and the safety latch is locked.
  • Handle the equipment carefully during operation and put it down gently to avoid damaging the laser by impacts or strong vibration.
  • A single data collection session must last more than 60 seconds.
  • To keep the data safe and easy to process, it is recommended to limit a single data collection session to 25 minutes.
  • Keep the scanner more than 0.4 m from the measured object; avoid pointing the laser head at a wall at close range (<0.4 m).
  • Try to avoid pedestrians moving in front of the laser head.
  • Avoid unnecessary turns on the spot.
  • Data collection must be continuous, with a certain degree of overlap.

Cleaning and maintenance

To clean the protective glass of the laser head and the camera lenses, use clean compressed air, a soft dry brush with soft bristles or a special lens cleaning cloth. Do not use alkaline cleaners. Be careful not to scratch the lens glass with hard objects.

Storage requirements

  • Avoid exposure to magnetic fields.
  • Protect from falls.
  • Do not crush.
  • Avoid storage in a humid environment.

If the device is not used for a long time, store the SLAM200/200E in a safe, dry, ventilated place away from direct sunlight. Storage conditions: relative humidity below 40%, temperature from -20°C to +60°C, to avoid condensation due to excessive humidity. The recommended storage temperature is +5 to +28°C.
