The TOPODRONE P24 camera supports 2 installation options: on a 3-axis gimbal or together with a TOPODRONE laser scanner.
It is recommended to install the TOPODRONE P24 camera where there is no dust, precipitation or strong wind. If the weather does not meet these conditions, install it indoors, in a car or under a canopy to protect the X-Port payload connector contacts and the lens from moisture and dust.
- Take the TOPODRONE P24 camera out of the case. When installing for the first time on a 3-axis gimbal, mount the TOPODRONE UAV PPK receiver on the drone body. For details, see «Installing TOPODRONE P24 on a 3-axis gimbal on DJI Matrice 300/350 RTK»
- Install the TOPODRONE P24 camera with the 3-axis gimbal on the payload port of the DJI Matrice 300 / 350, or install the TOPODRONE P24 without the gimbal on the L-shaped bracket of TOPODRONE LiDAR. For details, see «Installing TOPODRONE P24 on a 3-axis gimbal on DJI Matrice 300/350 RTK» and «Installing TOPODRONE P24 together with LiDAR on DJI Matrice 300/350 RTK» respectively.
- When using the TOPODRONE P24 on a 3-axis gimbal, connect the camera to the TOPODRONE UAV PPK receiver with the LEMO 4-PIN – LEMO 6-PIN cable. When using the TOPODRONE P24 together with a TOPODRONE laser scanner, connect the camera to the payload connector of the laser scanner.
- Connect the antenna cable to the corresponding connector of the TOPODRONE UAV PPK receiver or the TOPODRONE laser scanner.
- Screw the GNSS antenna tightly onto the drone's external GNSS antenna mount (the «Spider» on DJI Matrice 300 / 350 RTK). Do not use excessive force: screw the antenna on until its foam gasket rests against the «Spider» mount.
- Close the TOPODRONE P24 camera case using at least one clip.
Skipping this step in the field may let dirt, dust and moisture into the case, since the case is often right next to the drone's take-off point. This in turn may cause corrosion and damage to the TOPODRONE P24 or its accessories.
