Mobile laser scanning

Mobile laser scanning, a ground platform such as a car, electric scooter or backpack is used as a carrier on which TOPODRONE scanners are mounted. Scanning is performed while the carrier is traveling on a road or other flat surface. In contrast to airborne scanning, the composition of objects in the field of view is smaller, but the density of reflections and therefore the detail of point clouds is significantly higher. From the point of view of geopositioning, the main difference from the aerial platform is that, being close to the surface of the earth, GNSS-receiver of the mobile system often falls into areas of shadowing satellite signals from buildings, vegetation, terrain elements, so to solve this problem we use not a spiral antenna and patch antenna. Despite this, the problem of improving the accuracy of mobile scanning data today is very relevant, so to improve the data is used a special section in TOPODRONE Post Processing - TOPOSLAM, which allows you to improve the result obtained at low quality GNSS signal. The main application of mobile scanning is surveying of roads, railroads, bridges, overpasses, city streets, coastlines. Mobile scanning is successfully applied wherever it is possible to pass the vehicle on which the system is installed. If there are tasks when there is no GNSS or the terrain is not suitable for the use of scanners with GNSS, then such objects can be performed with TOPODRONE SLAM 100, in its technology the presence of GNSS is not necessary.
