Meet our first drone and mobile laser scanning survey project in 2023 performed in collaboration with ATyges (Malaga, Spain).
We captured LiDAR datasets by TOPODRONE LiDAR HI-RES, as well high resolution images by professional high resolution TOPODRONE P61 camera installed onboard of DJI M300 drone.
TOPODRONE surveying equipment allows simultaneous acquiring of high precision LiDAR point cloud and outstanding aerial imagery with full-frame 61 Mpixel sensor, produced by SONY, that significantly reduces duration of fieldwork, as well as provides all necessary information for creating maps & CAD layers.
As you can see the survey was carried out in the mountain and forested area, where the use of the drone based LiDAR allows to obtain a high-precision relief, and high-resolution photos provide all the information necessary for the team to draw all the surrounding situation.
After finishing the flights we installed the TOPODRONE LIDAR HI-RES on the vehicle and performed mobile laser scanning of the road and surrounding infrastructure.
Once again, the project has proved the advantage of our approach to develop equipment, which can be installed on different carriers (drone, VTOL, vehicle, backpack) and allows surveyors to perform a variety of tasks, saving time and money invested the equipment.
It is important to note that drone and mobile laser scanning datasets were automatically processed in TOPODRONE Post Processing software and required no additional actions to couple them together. The most important tools for Automatic Strip Alignment and Boresight calibration are included to the last version of the software.
